Congratulations on your new puppy! Getting a new puppy or dog is so exciting. So is going shopping and getting everything they need. This new puppy checklist will help you get everything you’ll need or want to do for that little bundle of fur.
I remember when I brought home my first puppy and I think I made 4 trips to the store because I was so excited to get home and play with him that I would forget something.
I’ve created a New Puppy Checklist so that doesn’t happen to you. Make one trip to get everything set up for your new family friend so you have more time to play!
What You Need For A New Puppy
Go ahead and set up an appointment to get those vaccines scheduled. A healthy puppy is a happy puppy. You can also check out What To Expect At The First Vet Visit.
If puppy gets lost, make sure he makes his way back to you. Any humane society or Vet’s office should have a universal microchip reader. They’ll be able to link that microchip number to you and get puppy how safely
For others who can’t get to a microchip reader. This will let them know a phone number to contact to get puppy back to you.
Specific to age and breed preferably. Be sure to read about what’s in your dog’s food to know what the best kind is!
Get treats made in the USA. There have been cases of treats from outside the US making pets sick.
For crate training/potty training and a safe place for puppy to call their own if they get scared.

Other things to consider:
Nail Trimmers *You can get their nails trimmed at the Vet or groomers until you are comfortable.
Ear cleaner *Consider if breed is prone to ear infections or spends a lot of time in water.
Anything you would add to the list? I would love to hear from you!
