Eliminate Stains And Odor: Baby & Pet Safe
How to eliminate stains and odor is a lot easier than you think. Have you ever walked through your house and suddenly your foot gets wet? Then after looking at what you stepped in, your not sure whether to blame the dog or your kid at this point. We’ve all be there, that’s why I’m here to share with you how to eliminate stains and odor the easy way.
Whether your child spilled a drink or a potty training accident happened, this is the end of it. We’re going to make it disappear so you can catch the next thing they’re into. You’re doing great, Mama.
Stains go so much deeper than just the surface. We want to eliminate urine odor so our puppy doesn’t come back and mark their territory or catch the smell and think it’s okay to use the bathroom there.
A DIY dog urine remover is the solution if you have young children at home or you prefer to avoid chemical cleaning products. There are also Enzyme Cleaners we’ll take a look at.
Homemade Stain & Odor Remover
***May bleach out carpet*** Anytime you combine baking soda and peroxide you take a chance of bleaching out fabric.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of hydrogen peroxide
- 2 tsp of baking soda
- 1 tsp liquid dish soap
Method of Use:
- Pour baking soda over stain to soak up as much as possible.
- Combine peroxide and dish soap in a bowl or container.
- Pour solution over urine patches and allow to completely dry.
- Vacuum up any excess.
You’ll see the solution start to bubble and fizz. This is the solution working.
This solution is also good for getting rid of Skunk Smell from your dog. Be sure to pin that article if you have a curious puppy that runs around and gets into things it shouldn’t.
Homemade Carpet Deodorizer
After vacuuming up the leftover baking soda, a homemade deodorizer will make sure no odor remains.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 10-15 drops of essential oil (I use Lavender)
Method of Use:
Sprinkle over the carpet, let sit for 15-30 minutes, vacuum.

Thank you for these tips, Tish! I have two puppies and they are always urinating on our carpets and wood floor. The urine smells and stains got so bad that I had to have a local carpet cleaner come and fix it. They did a great job, but I just moved into a new place and I’m determined to keep the carpet free from their accidents. After reading your post, I’m starting to believe it’s possible with the solutions you suggest. I’m always going to keep an enzyme cleaner on hand from now on!
